How will the intervention go?
The technique consists of grinding a small portion of the central cornea (central corneal layers) using an excimer laser, after lifting a layer of corneal tissue which has a thickness of 50 microns.

At 4-5 days after surgery the therapeutic contact lenses will be removed. In the case where you loss a contact lens it is used ophthalmic ointment with kanamycin. After the operation you will have the first check in 24 hours, 48 hours, then 7 days, 30 days, 3 months, 6 months and one year after surgery.
The surgery cannot be undone. Such a surgery can correct up to -12 diopters (myopia), +5.5 diopters (hyperopia), 4-5 diopters cylinder (astigmatism). Likelihood of regression is 5-10%, regression value can reach 25% of the initial number of diopters. There is no risk of blindness.
The success of the operation consists in fixating the light without moving the eyes. However, if this happens, the laser sight automatically stops. It follows a defined map and if it leaves the perimeter it will stop.
