Laser hair removal vs waxing for my bikini area?

I’ve been been getting brazilian waxes monthly for about two years now. And I’m considering getting laser hair removal down there. I know that for laser hair removal it is recommended that you shave, and once I start treatment, I’m willing to make the switch from waxing to shaving. I just wanted to know if that fact that I’ve been waxing monthly for a while now would lower the effectiveness of the laser treatment?
I’d love answers from people that were in my shoes, that would be awesome! Thanks!

Lasering works really well. It lasts longer than shaving– the hair won’t come back for a month. It’s a bit more expensive and painful (take 2 advil before you go and it will help A LOT). Other than that, I’m all for laser over waxing.

I don’t know if your waxing will have a negative effect on the laser treatments. As long as your hair is fully grown in and you shave it off, you should be fine. If you do wax within a month before the lasering, that treatment might not be quite as effective but it would also be less painful.
