Why do laser guns make the sound Pew Pew?
Im really curious if that is the true sound of a laser gun.
Ahhh, Hollywood! How could a laser (or ship for that matter) make a sound in outer space, which is a vacuum?
It’s sound effects to make your entertainment more enjoyable. The effects guy for Star Wars held a microphone to a taught cable and tapped it to acquire that ‘ping laser’ sound.
Real lasers are light. They don’t make a sound in generating the light. The machines behind them (big and bulky today) would hum and rattle, though. Powerful lasers take up whole rooms using today’s technology. They’re not portable….. Wanna bet the government’s working on a portable one?
