Why do animals chasing laser pointers?
I wonder about this, and my dog obsesses over it if i keep it out for too long. My cat doesn’t get too obsessed. I knew pets like cats/dogs do this, but a while ago I saw a spider on the ceiling and pointed the laser pointer near it and it started to chase it… and it was moving fast and chased it for almost a half hour… Why do animals chase the laser pointer exactly?
Animals that chase the laser pointers are prey animals and it brings out the hunter in them. Cats will go after them the same way as they do bugs they are trying to catch, this is the same way with spiders. We did this with a wolf spider we saw on our floor. When we turned it off it turned toward us and started coming fast until we turned the laser pointer back on. It seemed as if it was not done playing with the light.
